April 8, 1922 - Oct. 27, 2014 Anne "Chris" McDermott of Birmingham passed away Oct. 27, 2014. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bowler who enjoyed bowling with the Bowlerettes and involved with the Singles Dance Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. (Bubba) McDermott, daughter, Joy Leah McDermott, grandchild, Cynthia Marie McDermott, brothers, Jodie Campisi and James Campisi. She is survived by her children, Michael McDermott (Shirley), Judy Blount (Kenneth), grandchildren, Jason Smith, Johnathan Smith, Timothy McDermott, Michael McDermott Jr., Christopher McDermott, several great grandchildren, and sister, Gertrude (Fufu) Hester. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Johns-Ridout's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Johns-Ridout's Funeral Home with burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
