

David John Tylicki, Sr., aged 79, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 29, 2023. He was born on June 24, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Norbert and Alice Tylicki. Dave enlisted in the Army, serving in Vietnam, and attaining the rank of captain. While stationed in Anniston, he met the woman who would become his beloved wife, Marie, to whom he was married for 53 years. They settled in Birmingham in 1973, where they raised their children, D.J. and Anne Marie. Dave earned his accounting degree and for 25 years worked for the law firm of Bradley, Arant, Rose, and White. Always a sports lover, he became an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed cooking, fishing, reading about history, and sometimes just relaxing on the back porch. He is survived by his wife, Marie Baldone Tylicki, his son, David Tylicki, Jr., his daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Mark Finke, his grandchildren, Caroline, Clara, and Cece Finke, his sisters and brother, Jane Winninger, Ellen Ball, and John Tylicki, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay respects and honor Dave’s long and full life on Thursday, January 4, at St. Francis Xavier Church. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 11. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or Tunnels to Towers.
