Jeffrey Saied Bajalieh , 47, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at his home on Saturday, December 18th at 5:45 pm. Born on September 5, 1974; Jeff is the oldest son of Saleh (late) and Nadia Bajalieh. Jeff was a lifelong resident of his beloved Birmingham, Alabama; which he poured his heart and soul into making a community to be proud of. Jeff attended John Carroll High School where he made many life long friendships which he deeply cherished. Jeff was a natural entrepreneur and many people have commented that they always knew he would make something of himself; and that he did. At the young age of 22, Jeff became one of the youngest franchisees of Domino’s pizza locations; here, he learned the ins and outs of the restaurant business which would continue to serve him the rest of his life. Later down the road, Jeff joined forces with his beloved brothers, Chris and Jason, to forge their own path in the Birmingham restaurant scene. The brothers’ first venture, Sol’s deli and Sandwich shop, opened on 20th Street North in 2008 as homage to their late father. With the success of Sol’s and Jeff being the business thinker that he was ; he couldn’t stop there. Slice Pizza and Brew’s first location was opened in 2010 in the Lakeview district, later followed by Sky Castle Gastropub in 2014 and ,most recently, their second location of Slice in Vestavia in 2018. Jeff’s leadership and visionary mindset will continue to guide his brothers in growing this successful and loved business that he was so passionate about. Out of the many accomplishments in Jeff’s life, he would tell you one of his proudest was marrying the love of his life, Sally, in April of 2020. He cherished their time spent together with their 3 dogs and valued their memories made traveling the country. Jeff will always be remembered as an instant friend to everyone he met with a contagious laugh that could fill a room. He was never slow to help a friend in need, provide a word of encouragement, or to lend an ear to someone who needed to be heard. He has left a great void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Jeff was preceded in death by his father , Saleh Bajalieh; paternal grandparents, Saied and Miriam Bajalieh; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Frieda Bajalia. Jeff leaves behind his wife, Sally Bajalieh; mother, Nadia Bajalieh; brother, Christopher Bajalieh; brother, Jason Bajalieh (wife, Bradley and son, Sol); as well as many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins who will miss him tremendously . The family would like to especially thank their Slice family for their ongoing support during this difficult time as well as the hematology/oncology nurses and doctors at UAB for guiding us and loving us through the past 3 years. Services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 28th. The visitation will start at 10 AM followed by the funeral at 11 AM and a reception in the parish hall at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jeff’s name to the Robert E. Reed Gastrointestinal Oncology Research Foundation.
