Jerry McWhirter Williams Estell

April 13, 1929 - December 6, 2016 - Jerry McWhirter Williams Estell, age 87, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2016. She was born in Marion County on April 13, 1929, and was a lifelong resident of the Birmingham area. Jerry loved her church and family. She sang in the choir and participated in other church activities for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Florene Beasley McWhirter, brothers Jim and Harold Dee McWhirter. She is survived by two sons, Donald "Rick" Williams (Vivian), William "Terry" Estell (Mickie), four grandchildren, Donald, Jr. (Shannon) and Darrick Williams (Amiee), Randy Whirley, Blake F. Howard (Larry), and five great grandchildren; two brothers, John H. McWhirter, TX and Donald B. McWhirter, CA and sister, Sherry Johnson, CA and a number of nieces and nephews. Jerry was a loyal and dedicated employee of Waters Enterprises for 64 years. She was a mentor and considered family.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to staff at St. Martin's in the Pines (Rehab Cottages) for the excellent care and compassion they provided, and her church family and friends for their prayers and support.

Services to be held on Friday, December 9th at Third Presbyterian Church, Dr. Richard C. Trucks, presiding, followed by a private interment at Elmwood Cemetery.
