Rev. Joh Norton and Mrs. Nancy Norton were the missionaries of Tomino Baptist Church, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka.  As one of the church members, I had warm memories of both.  I still remember Rev. Norton's warm smile and his Japanese with Alabama accent.  I was saddened by the death of Nancy for some years ago.  This time is by his.  But, I'm thankful that I was allowed to get to know them during they were serving to our Lord and us Japanese as dedicated missionaries.

We certainly join you in the sorrow of the loss of your Father, John. Brenda and I had the privilege of working with John and Nancy throughout our many years as a part of the Japan Baptist Mission. We met them when they first arrived in Japan and enjoyed sharing their ministry in the "Tsunami Zone" of Japan in recent years. They will be greatly missed, but we are thankful that we will have times to visit as we share eternity with our Savior and LORD, Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:57

Praise the Lord for the memories of John Norton Sensei.
 
The pastors and congregations of the Japan Baptist Convention wish to express their deepest condolences to the family of John Norton Sensei upon receiving news of his going home to be with the Lord.
 
The work of John & Nancy Sensei had a splendid impact here in Japan, especially Tomino Baptist Church, Kokura Baptist Church (both are in Kita-Kyushu Area), Fukuoka and Kansai Area. We express our sincere thanks to the work of Norton Sensei. We also rejoice in the work continued through his family of God.
 
We give heartfelt thanks to God for your continued prayers on behalf of Japan and for the sake of His gospel mission here.
 
May God give you His special peace and comfort at this time.

My heartfelt condolences to Scott and Kevin.

John was my only cousin on my mother's side.  Growing up, our families would often spend a week together during summer vacations.  Back in the day, he was an excellent water skier!  Lots of happy times and good memories.  For many years, I recall he and Nancy would send my mother a fruitcake for Christmas, which was much appreciated.  John will definitely be missed by all who knew him.

Scott and Kevin, prayers for you in the loss of your father. John and I attended elementary and high school together, and reconnected during Nancy's illness. Nancy was a coworker for a short time at WMU. John and I trained for Stephen Ministry together in 2014, where I got to know him better. John was very proud of his sons.

I will miss our rides to church when Butch wasn't available to take him, and our talks about his beloved family. He spoke so highly of his boys. My prayers are with you. Cheryl(Huston) Byrne

Scott and Kevin,  John was a dear friend.  I will miss him greatly.  My prayers are with you both.

John and I were together from the Woodlawn Baptist Church Cradle Roll through elementary (except the years he attended Comer) and high school. We corresponded throughout his ministry and visited for a week on a furlough in California. We corresponded during his most recent illness. Now he joins his beloved Nancy. I will surely miss John Norton.
