Born January 27, 1947, in Pensacola, Florida, to Lloyd and Betty Peeples, he attended Escambia High School and later received his B.A. degree from the then-named, Troy State University (today, Troy University) in Troy, Alabama.
Chandler spent the majority of his working career in the paper and corrugated box business. Working for a variety of companies in North and South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, and Kentucky, Chandler developed the knowledge and skills necessary to start his own business in 1992 when he formed Container Service Corporation. Today, Container Service Corporation, headquartered in Ringgold, GA, where Chandler lived for over 20 years, is one of the largest independent corrugated box manufacturers in the Southeast.
In addition to his success in business, Chandler was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed reading, especially books covering American history. But in recent years, Chandler’s deepest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, in particular his grandchildren. Teaching chess to his grandson and watching his granddaughter learn to swim were just two of Chandler’s most recent activities.
Chandler will be especially remembered for his generosity, strong devotion to family, and hardworking nature.
Survivors include his mother and father, Lloyd and Betty Peeples, sisters Susan Meece and Toby Nickson, children, Jon Peeples and Lloyd Peeples, III, grandchildren Lauren Peeples, Morgan Peeples, Lloyd “Chandler” Peeples IV, and Lily Peeples, and nieces Kristin Fecko, Lauren Meece and Meredith Luke.
Private services will be held at the Wellborn Baptist Church in Wellborn, FL.
Memorial contributions and donations in lieu of flowers are welcome and should be made in memory of Chandler to Big Oak Ranch (P.O. Box 507, Springville, AL 35146).
