Pat was born November 16, 1930 in Waco, Texas. She grew up in a home filled with the love of her parents, Pete and Maria “Mary”, brother Nick and sister Estelle. She attended Waco Schools graduating from Waco High in 1948.
At an early age Pat had a passion for the arts including drama and especially dance. She studied ballet and tap with Elmer Wheatley and the Hoffmanettes and enjoyed performing at local recitals.
Pat met Cameron Peter Grammas in Birmingham while attending a wedding. The couple fell in love and on April 28, 1955 married in Waco. They started their new life in Birmingham that same year. Pat was totally devoted to Cameron, was a constant source of support for him, and she was so proud of his long career as a certified life underwriter. Pat and Cameron were blessed with a son Steven of whom they were most proud.
Pat was a long time member of Holy Trinity Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She served on numerous committees and served as a member of the Festival Committee and the Choir for many years. Pats outward beauty was accompanied by a beautiful heart that touched family and friends alike, and she will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her son Steven Cameron Grammas, husband Cameron Peter Grammas, Brothers Nick and George Klaras, Sister Estelle Klaras, Sisters in Law Tula Grammas and Tasia Pappas.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother in law Alex Grammas, sister in law Luanne Klaras, nephew Evan Klaras and wife Kimberly, niece Karen Goss and husband Grant, nephews Peter Pappas and wife Alexis, and Pete Grammas, nieces Lynn Denton and husband Neely, Mary Leara and husband Steve, and Alexis Grammas and many other cousins and great nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Pete Grammas, Steve Leara, Neely Denton, Alex Denton, Eli Pappas and Evan Klaras.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Marianthi Grammas, and caregivers Ruthie Smith, Brenda Young, Monica Tamper Red- Wine, and Bernice Moultrie for their compassionate care and concern.
