

Shirley was born on February 19, 1937 to Kenneth and Blanche Stephen in New Liskeard, Ontario. On April 13, 1968 she married her beloved, Gordon Fisher and together they raised their wonderful family of four children. On June 27, 1970 Shirley and Gordon traveled to Hawaii and here they sealed there marriage in the Hawaii Mormon Temple. In April of 1992, Gordon and Shirley moved here to the majestic and beautiful Crowsnest Pass, making Coleman their home.
Shirley was a kind and caring woman who made her family her main focus in life. She loved to play the piano and sing in the choir. She had a wonderful talent for cake decorating and craftwork. In her spare time, Shirley loved to play cribbage and rumoli. She was a member of the Crowsnest Writers Group and the Crowsnest Pass Community Choir. She was a woman with a strong spiritual nature and a strong testimony of the gospel.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Fisher of Coleman; her son, Gordon (Susan) Fisher of Victoria, BC; her daughters, Wendy (Paul) Fitzpatrick of Calgary, Diana Bishop of Calgary, Crystal (Charles) Solmes of Victoria, BC; her grandchildren, Daniel Fisher, Joenelle Fisher, Reuben (Lisa) Chin, Bella Chin, Christopher Chin, Ria (Antonio) Guifarro, Tonya Bishop, Cory Bishop and Anthony Fisher; her great grandson, Zaira Guifarro; her mother, Blanche Stephen in Burlington, Ontario; sisters, Doris (Larry) Wright of Oakville, Ontario and Mildred Perritt of Burlington, Ontario, as well as the many friends she made throughout her lifetime.
Shirley was predeceased by her father, Kenneth MacDonald Stephen and her grandson, Justin Scott Bishop in 1982.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bellevue, AB on Friday, March 21st, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with President Larry Sant officiating. Interment followed at the Coleman Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Fitzpatrick, Jerry Fisher, Bruce Fisher, Christopher Chin, Darcy Flexhaug and Spencer Depew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Shirley Fisher will be gratefully accepted towards the Crowsnest Pass Health Care Foundation, Dialysis Unit, Bag 1, Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0.
