This morning my Mom peacefully went to heaven. She fought a courageous battle for 7 years. She was a fighter and held on as long as she could. Now she is at peace. No more suffering and struggling. She was a gem of a person, always putting her family first. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. For me nothing will ever be the same, but I have so many fond memories. She was always there f...or my sister and I. She valued education and spent hours teaching us math and spelling. She always made things fun, like deliberately leaving the lid off the pot when making pop corn. Funny how you remember the simplest things. She taught us to cook and involved us in the process of making holiday treats, cookies and cake. We often made more of a mess than it was worth, but that didn't bother her. The holidays was her favorite time of the year. We often had well over 40 guests on holidays. She prepared meals with everything from soup to nuts and made it look so easy. It wasn't until recently, when she was unable to do it anymore that I realized just how much work it was. Mom , I'm glad I had the chance to tell you that I loved you. You are loved more than you'll ever know. My heart is aching, but at least I know I have another angel in heaven watching over me. Rest in peace MOM. I love you and will never forget how wonderful you were to me.
