

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 14, 2012, from 1-5 pm, at the Zarro Funeral Home, 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield, NJ. The entombment will be private.
Joseph was born in Newark, lived in Maplewood and Parsippany before moving to Toms River in 1985. He worked for Lionel Train Company in Hillside before working for ATAPCO trading and production company in Parsippany. He was an honorary member of the VFW Post # 493, Belleville, Nutley Chapter as well as the American legion Post, Newark, NJ. He served his country proudly during WWII, in the US Army. He received two battle stars for his efforts in the European sector of operations in Germany, France, Luxembourg and Czechoslovakia. He was in the 131st mechanized heavy equipment and artillery company of the 3rd army, during of the Battle of the Bulge. One of his jobs was to fix and repair howitzer weaponry.
He passed peacefully hours after his wife, Grace Del Sordi. They were married for 65 years. He is survived by his loving and devoted son, Joseph Del Sordi Jr.; cherished granddaughter, Susan Del Sordi- Staats D.O. and her husband, Jonathan; cherished grandson, Nicholas Del Sordi; dear great grandchildren, Olivia Grace and Maxwell; dear sister, Rachel Centanni. He was predeceased by his loving sister and brother, Marie Keiser and Nicholas Del Sordi.
