To the family,
I can't begin to tell you how special your mom was to me.  She would make me laugh and smile everyday. Either the way she would tell me to "drink" my pills if I had a headache or just being her sweet self.  She didn't have a mean bone in her body.  My regret is not staying in touch more.  I can tell you her main focus was always on her children and then grandchildren when they were born!  She loved you all with all her heart.  
My story to tell and I tell it often was one day at her desk she kept saying "do you hear an elephant" and would go look out the front window.  Later only to realize the sound was coming from her screen saver that had animals on it.  To this day, I can see the look on her face and the laugh we all had when the mystery of the Elephant was solved.  
She was and is a beautiful soul.  I know that she is still with you, please keep you heart open to her subtle nudges letting you know she is there.

Mom what can I say you were such and amazing, beautiful, strong, loving, caring, patient women that I've known and you are truly missed by me, your family, your friends but especially your kids and grandkids. God has called you to his side, we ask ourselves "why" but only he knows the answer and cant never judge him. All I know is that he got a beautiful angel by his side. I walk into mayra's and you can feel a presence a light that shined missing and that is you. I miss walking into mayra's and going to your room to say hi and chitchat and laugh, seeing you go outside to the back to say goodnight to us, miss seeing your beautiful smile and laughter, god knows I can go on and on and never finish. These past 24 years we had such great times that I will never forget and will cherish them forever. I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of your family and for loving me, that means so much to me and I am forever grateful. Love you so much, I will keep the promise I made to you, until then MAY YOU REST IN PARADISE.

Te vi muy pocas veces, pero a pesar de eso, pude llegarte a querer mucho ya que siempre fuiste muy linda y tuviste atenciones que me hicieron sentir apreciada por ti.  Te veías una persona seria pero tu sonrisa transmitía más que las palabras y así es como te voy a recordar siempre, con una gran sonrisa. Te quiero mucho.

Elvia: 
Fuiste para mi una hermana que siempre cuido de mi, recuerdo como me consentías al llegar por la madrugada y a pesar de ser muy tarde te ponías a preparar mis donas favoritas,  como me arreglabas el cabello cuando salíamos de fiesta, nunca te negaste a hacer eso y más cosas por mí. Desde aquí te agradezco todas tus atenciones que siempre fueron sinceras.

Extraño tu sonrisa, tu partida  fue dolorosa pero seguro estoy que estas con mis tíos gozando de la protección del manto sagrado de Dios y su presencia.

Elvia:
Aunque fueron pocas veces las que nos vimos, me bastó para saber que fuiste una persona fantástica, una mujer linda que marcaste la diferencia en aquello que hacías, que fuiste importante para las personas que amaste... fuiste muy querida y estoy orgullosa de haber sido parte de tu vida. Te quiero mucho mi guerrera.

I have known Elvia a long time now. She and I worked together when I was younger. She was one of the happiest and most positive people I have ever known. She was always smiling and laughing, I am lucky enough to have met one of my closest friends Lisa  (and of course Raymond & Raeli) through her, for that I will always be grateful!! Love you and miss you Elvia xoxo

Tia Elvia was wonderful and sweet to all of us. We have so many fond memories of her when we were growing up. Spending Christmas day at the house in Rosemead and listening to stories that were shared of their childhood. 
It was always a joy seeing her on our yearly family reunions. The reunions were also so special to us when we would see my mom so happy to see Tia Elvia and they would talk for hours. My mom always told us she saw Elvia as a sister as they spend a lot of their childhood together. These are the memories we will cherish  a lifetime.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mayra, Raymond, and the whole family.

No puedo expresar la tristeza que siento al saber ya no estas aquí. Quiero que sepas que fuiste y eres alguien muy importante en mi vida. Convivimos mucho de niñas y te vi como mi hermana.      No sé como decirte cuanto te extraño, porque fueron 41 años de convivir primero como mi cuñada, luego mi comadre pero sobretodo mi mejor amiga, mi confidente, mi angel por que siempre que hablábamos me dejabas con mucha paz. Compartíamos recetas de cocina, de nuestros hijos y nietos. Recuerdo que me decías que eras rica porque tenias a tus hijos, nietos y hermanos. Que  lo único que te ponía triste es que Raeli no se fuera acordar de ti por chiquita. Ya que con Jason y Jesse pudiste convivir por varios años. Pero yo estoy segura de que todos te vamos a recordar siempre y llevarte en el corazón. Como el Angel que fuiste para tus hermanos, tus hijos, nietos, Said y Lisa. 

P.S. Gracias Said por quererla tanto y haberle cumplido su deseo de bailar.

My sister Elvia, 
     Where do I begin, for those of you who didn’t have the pleasure of meeting her, and If I were to say she was one of the most sweetest, kindest, considerable loving person you can ever meet. I would be still short of words in describing her. She embraced my whole family. My son David would say she was his second mom. When I got married she received my wife Tita with open arms. We became Raymond’s god parents Tita and Elvia were best of friends and Tita’s confidant. During Tita’s pregnancies we would stay with my sister and family. Elvia would take Tita to her doctor’s appointments when I couldn’t which was most of the time. For my sons Chris and Bobby she was their sweet aunt, they liked staying with her because she would let them play in the dirt and mud and gave them whatever they wanted to eat.
By the time Tita and I would get back to house, she had the boys all washed up, clean and looking like little angels. 
Also, There were times when I would call her as I was driving home from work and we would talk able everything and everybody. She always had some kind words to say, but what I remember the most and I’m going to miss, Is she would always end our conversations by saying “ Love you with all my heart”. I miss my sister so much and now its my turn to end this note with “sister I love you with all my heart”. 

Memories: Because I liked joking around, I’m the brother and uncle that would cheer for the other team, negative comments, just a sick sense of humor which would upset everyone. There were times when she would get mad at me for a split second and then start laughing, and then I remember my sister whispering to me saying ‘Love you bro but don’t tell anyone’. I get a laugh every time I remember that. 

Well, There are so many memories I would like to talk about but it would take days of fun and laughter which I hope will come soon. I miss her.

ELVIS
Hey, Elvis, it's been 5 weeks since you left us (you left way too soon). I have never been a man of many words. I want you to know that I think of you quite often. We had plans to get all our families together and make up the time that this pandemic took away. This picture was the last time we all spent together (2/29/2020) where we were able to hug each other.  I know you are with Jessie, our parents, and friends like Sara and Guero rejoicing with our Lord and Savior. I miss our phone calls that we use to have and how we talked about everything and anything. You always ended with a give your family a hug for me and tell them I love them and to love and take care of Celia. You were always a beautiful person (sister) with beautiful children that you raised to be strong always showing their love for you and all of us. You were always so proud of them; Myra and Ramon and their families have been a blessing to me and my family. We will see you again. I miss you.

On behalf of the entire Serrano Family in San Diego, we are deeply saddened by your loss and extend our deepest sympathies. Elvia was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed.  

Nothing will ever take away our memories.  May these memories be ones to give you comfort and reminders of happier times.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.



I have so many memories with my Tia that I don’t even know where to begin. Tia Elvia practically helped raise me as a kid. She was so loving and generous with her time and effort. Always cooking, talking, laughing with us, making sure we were doing good.  I loved arriving on the weekends and just spending time as a family. The Rosemead house was my favorite place to be because I knew my family would be there, that my Tia would be there!  Knowing that she’s gone, breaks my heart. But I know she’s better now. Her memory lives on in us and I know that I will never forget her for as long as I live. 

One of my favorite memories: I remember when me, Alex and Mikey went to shakey’s with dad when Marcus was still like 9 months or so. Dad wanted to pull a prank and pretended that we left Marc at Shakeys on accident. We pretended to run out of the house and she got so scared! Then dad turned around and says “just kidding Elvis.” I started laughing so hard. She looked at both of us! “Aye mike! Aye Jon! You make me so mad I swear’ then she hit us haha. That’s always going to be one of my favorite memories.  

Mayra, Raymond, Jason, Jesse and Said, I’ve been praying for you guys and always will. I haven’t gone through this but i can only imagine how hard this must be . Love you guys so much. 

A big part of my heart is missing mom! And it went with you the day that you left to be in heaven. I don’t know how am I going to live this world without you. I understand that I need and have too but I just don’t know how! I still need you mom, my kids and husband still need you! We been together for 39 years we never left each other side, you where the light of this house, the light of our lives, the light of our heart! The loved that you gave to my kids, my husband and me was the most amazing loved! I am blessed to call you “my mom” God definitely gave me the best mom in the world! I love & miss you so much mom! I know one day we will all be together again, but until that day comes I know you are right beside us, guiding and protecting us! You will forever be missed mom! I love you with all my heart mom!

If Gerber daisy grow in Heaven Lord. Please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my sister's arms and tell her they're from me. Tell her that I love and miss her and when she turns to smile. Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easy. I do it every day. But there is an ache within my heart that will never go away.

I loved going to concerts with her; It was a joy to see her dance and sing her favorite Beatle songs.

I met Elvia at Casablanca in the late 80’s. I had the honor of working with and becoming friends with this lovely lady. She is genuinely one of the kindest and most humble people I have ever met. I can remember her clearly working hard at her desk. Most of the time shaking her head in disbelief at all the pranking and joking that went on in our department. Always with a little grin. We visited once at Annabelle’s house in Pico. When I think of Elvia I picture us in the backyard, under a tree just relaxing and sharing some laughs. Her bright smile and gentle soul touched my heart forever. I pray for peace and strength for her family. ❤️

So many memories made of this sweet, beautiful lady .. one of them being her way of saying hello “ hey lady “ to her mispronouncing names 🤣🤣 a memory that sticks out is when we we’re in a terrible car accident while working at Casablanca, we had to be escorted out of the freeway, walking , but neither her or I forgot our lunches in the car 🤣🤣🤣

Elvia was always one of the most beautiful person she always has a smile on my face and always made you feel welcome! My cousin will be missed!  God took one more beautiful angel for heaven! 

I loved our scrapbook mother/daughter dates we use to have! We would spend hours scrapbooking, gossiping, joking around, and eating. It was the best, we would  be laughing the whole time! By the end of the night  I only had scrapbook a page or two, but not my Nina, she would  do like ten pages! Will always cherish those fun nights!  So lucky to have been able to spend them with you Nina! Love you so much! 💗

For the longest time, my Nina only had her two grandsons  (which as you all know she loved and adored),  When she found out I was pregnant and was having a girl, she right away said that she was going to be her Nana.  So Izel has called her Nana her whole life. She was so sweet and was always up to making my little girl happy. She would come visit and would join us in Izel's tea parties and we would all have a ball! Izel misses her Nana and so do we. ❤

 My sister was the most beautiful person I know. She was so sweet, always thinking of everyone else before herself.  The day she told us that she had stage 4 cancer, she wanted to know if we  were okay. She was worried that we could take the bad news. 
My whole life we have been best friends. Ever since we were teens we have the same circle of friends but we were always eachothers confident, soundboard and we enjoyed the same things. Decorating, TV, crafting but most of all, our kids and grandchildren. There was one thing she enjoyed and I didn't get it and that was Korean soap operas. Even if she didn't know what they were saying she would be hooked on them. She was so cute in her ways. I miss her so much and I miss our daily calls.
