Mary M. Casados
Mary Margaret Casados passed away in San Bernardino, California on August 29, 2024. She was born to David and Socorro Mora on November 15, 1948, in Knox City, Texas. As an adored little girl, she was often compared to a ‘doll’ who was always dressed in the prettiest dresses alongside her well-dressed brother, Daniel Mora. She was well-mannered, highly educated, tech-savvy, and loved by many.
Mary met the love of her life at a wedding reception party in 1964. It was love at first sight, but it wasn't until they rekindled their relationship months later at another party that they shared their adoration for one another. Not long after, in 1965, they were engaged, and she proudly showed off her ring to anyone and everyone she could! After graduation in 1966, her father was rightfully boastful of his daughter's knowledge as she went to IBM, where she carried on her extensive computer skills as a keypunch operator. Mary then married the love of her life, Robert Casados, on January 14, 1967, in Cypress Park, California.
She was a dedicated wife and loving mother of three beautiful children, Michael, Paul, and Tiffany. She adored her kids and often spoke highly of them to her coworkers, friends, and family near and far. Mary was reborn according to Act 2:38 at Harvest Tabernacle Church, located in Eagle Rock, California, in 1972, under the direction of Revered Bernard Elms.
Mary continued to live for the Lord after relocating to Inland Lighthouse Church in Rialto, California, under the direction of Pastor Gerald Buxton, Bishop Larry Booker, Pastor Joel Booker, and Pastor Caleb Dillon until her heavenly departure.
When Mary wasn’t at church praising God, she crocheted for her loved ones. She was an avid reader who would finish a novel in a day. But what she loved the most was being surrounded by, as she stated, “the most beautiful grand and great-grandbabies you've ever seen,” and no, seriously, you couldn't argue with her on that, she insisted. Mary will be greatly missed by all of her family, extended family, and dear lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Socorro Mora, and her grandson, Michael Casados. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Casados, and her brothers, Daniel Mora and Jody Shollenberger; her sons, Michael, and Paul Casados; daughter Tiffany (Dino) Martin; her grandchildren: Gabriel Villages, David Casados, Diamond Casados, Crystal Lopez, Paulina Casados, Danelle Mendoza, Monica Casados, Adrianna Zamora, Destinee Abrego, and Dino Martin II; and her great-grandchildren: Audrey Casados, Aiden Casados, Evan Estrada, Eden Estrada, Eve Estrada, Devyn Antunez, Alexander Mendoza, Jasiah Hudson, Xavion Hudson, Nathaniel Alatorre, Elijah Calua, Ezra Zamora, Beau Abrego, Isla Abrego, Ashton Martin, and Alivia Martin.
On September 16, 2022, Mary was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. She then began her journey on the road to recovery, starting extensive chemotherapy and undergoing two major surgeries. She seldom complained and fought cancer with a smile. In April 2024, Mary received results from a bone marrow biopsy that showed she was then battling Leukemia. After much thought and prayer, Mary decided that she no longer wanted to undergo the extensive chemotherapy again. She spent her last days surrounded with love by family and friends, and on August 29, 2024, Mary received her heavenly healing.
