Inland Empire, died January 17, 2026 in Riverside.
Born in San Bernardino on April 11, 1954, Mary grew
up in and around southern California–enjoying the
beaches, mountains, local delights and history.
Mary retired as a Paralegal from the law firm of
Best, Best and Krieger, Riverside. She was a proud
cancer survivor walking 5ks, a lifetime connector of
family, a girl scout troop leader, and member of the
Brook Church in Grand Terrace. Her employment
included a variety of secretarial and paralegal jobs.
Her hobbies included reading, gardening, walking,
cooking, crafting, listening to music, dancing,
visiting with friends, tending pets, and loving her
family.
Mary is survived by her husband, Mark Stracke of
Riverside; her daughter, Mandy Stracke of San Jose; 4 brothers Michael Gomes of
Toole, Utah, Patrick Gomes of Dripping Springs, Texas, Timothy Gomes of Kernville,
California, and Thomas Gomes of Waterloo, Iowa; and a host of family and friends.
She is preceded in passing by her parents, Neva and Gabriel Gomes, and her sisters,
Barbara Johnson and Beverly Powell.
Mary will be deeply missed and held gently in our hearts.
The Memorial Service will be held at Green Acres Chapel at 1pm on Saturday, March
28, 2026. This will be followed by an Inurnment Service.
