With love and deep admiration for you Rudy, you always knew how to make me feel like the most important person in the room.  Thank you for teaching me how to golf on Sundays after church, and inviting me to your house to eat Sunday dinner with your family.   My mom and I will never ever forget our Emmanuel Baptist Church, Pomona,  family.  Always missing you ♡

I have so many memories of you grandpa...it's been a great joy to share with your two sister's about all the visits we got to make to Texas...stories of you growing up..of your parents..I wish you were still around and share this time with us..but knowing you're up in heaven smiling at us and probably laughing at a few stories your sisters are telling...especially from aunt Marcella letting us know we're French, German, and Spaniards...knowing that when you guys were in school if you spoke a word in Spanish you would have to pay a penny and you'd get into trouble by teachers..I never knew that..I could write forever..but my fondest memory of you still would be me taking care of you when you broke your neck..I wanted to make sure you were safe and you needed to walk..you use to take me to the park with the rocket ship in Pomona..you bought me my first car..i only got to drive it a few times then my dad borrowed it and crashed it haha...so you gave me the gray Nissan centra..then helped me pay for my second car..you were always so good to me..and always told me I was amable (kind)Bonita (beautiful)and some other Spanish words that I could never understand..then you taught me.."when the roll is called up yonder" in Spanish.."Cuando Allá Se Pase Lista" I loved singing that with you...I love writing these down so I can remember..and other people can get to know you from our stories...thank you for being a terrific Grandpa!I love you!

May The Lord grant peace and comfort to family and friends as they celebrate a life well lived.  I think back to Sings and fellowships at First Baptist of San Dimas and later Crest Avenue Baptist in Riverside and the good conversations we had eating together and "fellowshipping." I enjoyed our visits in your little trailer, Emma and the times you and Rudy would drive out to Victory Ranch to help prepare bulk mailings.  Rudy would always say he "wished there was more he could do to help."  I thank The Lord for the privilege of spending time with Rudy through the years.

There's no better time than now to write these few words of my Father Rudolph Lerma Sandoval. From the moment I was born until your last breath I know I was your little girl. I would enjoy when you would sit me on your hand and lift my whole body up in the air, and then I would stand on your feet with mine as you raised me to the roof. You would make an effort to take family time once a year whether it was to Texas, or Mo, or just camping, but mainly it was to visit family, and I'll have memories of all my cousins, aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas because you took that time. You taught me most importantly how to have a relationship with Jesus, and then what other things come out of that. LOVE is what comes out of that relationship, love for people you didn't know, to friends, and to all of your family. We all have different things that stick out in our minds about you, but mine is what I said your relationship with Jesus. Anyone you would meet, you would ask them if they knew Jesus as their Savior, and depending on what they said back, that would give you the opportunity to say more to them about Christ. So to me that was the most important thing you could leave me with. No one is ever perfect, we all make mistakes, say some things we didn't mean to, or act a way we shouldn't because of being upset, but even out of those moments there is forgiveness, and I'll always remember the way you forgave me Dad, it was in such a way that I could actually see how Christ's forgives us! In a way we don't deserve it, but because of His Love He still gives it. I gleaned a lot from you, even though you weren't perfect, how to give, be hospitable, to work, to be thankful, to be involved in peoples lives, whether it was through fun times, or instruction, to spend time with those you loved. But most importantly spend time in Gods word, and pray at every meal, or times getting in the car to go somewhere, or for someone. And the way you grew in loving your wife, such an example. I had the honor and privilege of being your daughter, and look so much forward to seeing you again in a new body just like you have now, just spending all eternity praising, singing and joyfully in the presence of our Savior and King!!  Love you Papa!!

To my family who are missing my Uncle Rudy, I send my prayers and love.  Many wonderful memories of your visits to Texas is what we have. God bless  you all.

We will remember you fondly and share the love of our Lord. I love how any time "grandma" Emma Lou or my son walked by you always swung your gaze to them and watched what they were doing. You put a smile on my face when I kissed your hand and you called me sweet. I am blessed to  have been your care taker for a short time and a part of your family for longer.You will be missed.Till  we meet again in a better place.

Rudy you are a true friend. With love for everyone who stepped through your door. I will always remember your face smiling, and your warm laughter. Til we meet again love Jason

Everything....
I'm going to miss everything...you were my grandpa...but you were also the only dad I knew until I was 4...I'll remember our trips to Texas, our walks to the bridge after you broke your neck and you needed to walk...your strong work ethic...your love of golf...your love for the Lord...haha your impatience with me when trying to teach me how to drive a stick shift for the first time, you'd get so mad cause I kept stalling..I was only 12..but eventually I caught on..dancing with you at my wedding and a few other weddings...you always teased me cause I wasn't that great at it...telling me I needed to lose some few pounds cause it wasn't healthy, when I finally did you didn't recognize me and started calling me "Ruth" haha but I didn't mind cause then you remembered who I was and all was good again...I'm so thankful I was able to tell you "I love you grandpa" a week before you left us and you just smiled and said "i love you daughter"...that was special because lately you've been answering back with...uh huh...I know you are in a better place and happy to be there...you always talked about heaven and what a day that will be when you get there...well you are there and we are going to miss you...but we know you're ok...I love you so much thank you for being a GREAT grandpa.
