Thomas F. Logan, 83, of Fontana, CA passed away at home on Saturday June 3, 2023. He was born in Pasadena, CA on July 3, 1939 to the late Orion G. and Ruth L. Logan.
Tom was raised in Fontana where he attended local schools. He was employed by Kaiser Steel during their construction period and later served in the US Navy for 4 years. He married Karen Kalloch in 1963. They were blessed with two daughters, two grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
After his service in the Navy, he was employed by Valley Equipment Rental and later owned and operated T&K Equipment Rental in Fontana.
Tom was an active member of:
Gloria Del Lutheran Church where he was a member of the property committee and helped to maintain the grounds.
Fontana Exchange Club where he served on several Fontana Days Committees.
Most recently, he was a member of the board for the Fontana Firemen’s Museum.
As a young man, he had a love for cars, new and old. He enjoyed NASCAR races both at the tracks and on TV. He was part of the Dean Huss race team for #4 stock car at San Bernardino Raceway. In later years he owned ”Classic Hot Rods” and belonged to the Over the Hill Gang of San Bernardino and The Donut Gang in Fontana.
Tom retired to a life of travel and adventure. He loved deep-sea fishing in Alaska and Mexico. He enjoyed camping and driving his sand buggy in the Glamis Sand Dunes with his family and friends, as well as boating and skiing on the Colorado River.
Tom loved his family and felt they were a blessing; bringing a special joy and happiness into his life.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Sally, his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Karen, daughter Faith (Jeff) Killian, 2 grandsons, Matthew (Niki) Arhlen, Jonathan (Sandra) Arhlen, 6 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Laura Logan and numerous nieces and nephews.
