Alexandra L. Radulescu, 45, of South Carolina, formerly of Normal, left this earthly place, Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Normal.
Leah was born February 13, 1966 in Mesa, AZ to Kenneth and Sandra McArthur Jesse. She married Robert Radulescu at First United Methodist Church, Normal in 1992.
Surviving are her husband and their beloved daughters, Rachel and Anna; her parents, Normal; 1 sister Lynn (Doug) Fewkes, Bloomington and 1 brother, Ralph (Gale) Jesse, Morton. She was a dear aunt to her 4 nephews Brian, Ben, Mac and Sam.
Private services for Leah are under the care of East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Private interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Leah graduated from ISU’s University High School, Normal and the University of Illinois, Urbana. She also earned a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Converse College, Spartanburg, SC.
Leah was the Sister Cities Ambassador to Asahikawa, Japan in 1982, and attended Tokyo University during her junior year of college. She taught English in both US high schools and French schools. She was a natural athlete and played girls sports long before Title 9 encouraged girls to do so.
A devoted and much loved wife and mother, Leah was a published writer and artist who made beautiful homes for her family in Greenville, SC and Clermont-Ferrand, France. She is greatly missed by her family and friends.
