She was born November 7, 1932 in Saint Louis, MO to Frank and Sarah (Williamson) Royston. She married Ernest Beard in Bloomington on November 14, 1971.
Charlene retired from Eureka Williams and spent 10years with the Salvation Army. Her home church was New Hope Baptist Church which she was very devoted to but above all she loved her family.
Survivors include her children: Garry “Larry” Dalson of Bloomington, Marshell (Rev. Wayne) Wickware of Peoria and Deryl (Maria) Black of Bloomington; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother: Melvin Royston of Bloomington; sister: Lynda (Calvin) Squire of Rockford; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and nine siblings.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday February 5, 2015 at Mt Pisgah Baptist Church, 801 West Market Street, Bloomington, IL 61701. Funeral Service will be at 11am Friday February 6, 2015 at the church. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Rev. David Brown will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
