

Char was born March 3, 1937 to James and Tiny Gunderson and raised in Washington IL. She married Kenneth Huff in 1955 and settled in Bloomington. She is survived by her son, Stan (Margie) Huff; step-son, Stephen Huff; son-in-law, Cecil Groetken; three grandsons, Christopher Groetken, Jared (Megan) Huff, Alex Huff and her great grandson, Oliver “Ollie” Huff. She is also survived by her cousins, James (Donna) Bond, Sparta, TN and Carol (Steve) Gunderson Ellis, Lower Lake CA. Char was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, David George Gunderson, and her daughter, Lori Groetken.
Char was well known in the community as a good friend to many, a leader in local Real Estate for many years, and for her community service and volunteer activities.
Char lived her life with a deep love for her family, caring and concern for others and a deep love for the Lord. Her strong work ethic was based on the premise to always “do the right thing” by others.
Her family wants to thank her many friends and colleagues for their love and support during her illness, as well as the physicians and nurses who went above and beyond in her care.
Services will be held Saturday, April 9th, at First Christian Church, 401 W. Jefferson, Bloomington with visitation at 9:00am and memorial service at 11: 00am. A private family burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery, Peoria.
