Edna Wheeler

Edna was born August 26, 1938, in Dewitt County to Dale Stuart and Grace Belle (Burge) Maiden. She married Charles James Wheeler on February 15, 1959 in Argenta, IL. He passed away February 16, 2006. Edna was a dietary aide for Dewitt County Nursing Home until she retired in 2000. She is a member of Lane Christian Church.

She is survived by her three children, Penny L. Wilson, Lynn A. Lovins and James A. Wheeler all of Dewitt, IL; five grandchildren, Derek (Kelly) Lovins of Clinton, IL, Justin (Heather) Schmid of Mt. Pulaski, IL, Tanna (Deangelo) Gales of Bloomington, IL, Tyler Wilson of Kansas City, MO and Floyd (Jamie) Lovins of Decatur, IL; nine great-grandchildren, Hailey Lovins of Clinton, IL, Rosalea Dubson of Decatur, IL, Jaiden Russell of Decatur, IL, Lorelai “Charlie” Lovins of Decatur, IL, Hudson Schmid of Mt. Pulaski, IL, Hollis Schmid of Mt. Pulaski and Hayden Schmid of Mt. Pulaski, IL, DeBryce Gales of Bloomington, IL and Domani Gales of Bloomington, IL; two sisters, Judy Bennett of Clinton, IL and Jody Maiden of Bloomington, IL; one brother, Jimmie Maiden of Monticello, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; three brothers, Dale Maiden, Bill Maiden and Lyle Maiden; and two sisters, Shirley Higgins and Doris Kissack.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service at Lane Christian Church 4794 Lane Road, Lane, IL 61750. A Celebration of Life will follow visitation at 11 a.m. The family would like memorials to be directed to the church. Arrangements are through East Lawn Funeral Home.
