

Harry Louis Miller, 89, of Normal passed away at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center surrounded by his family at 10:15am September 18, 2015. He was born April 4, 1926 in Normal to Mayo and Mattie Mae Miller. In high school Harry participated in multiple sports. He served in World War II in the 90th Infantry Division as a combat infantryman. Harry was awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action; the Infantrymen’s Combat Badge; 3 Bronze Battle Stars for Bulge, Rhine and Germany. He transferred to military government as a chief clerk until his discharge. Upon his return he married Charlene Wheeler on Oct. 25, 1947. He was a designer for commercial heating and cooling companies throughout his career as a civilian. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Harry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Charlene Miller; his daughter Lynda Sue Bogue (Dennis); grandchildren Corinna McBride (Kelly) and Stephen Bogue (Lisa); great grandchildren Kelsie, Keegan, Kyleigh McBride and Jonathan and James Bogue. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mae Stejr, brothers Henry, James, Virgil and Rex Miller, and a great grandson Nicholas Bogue.
Visitation for Harry will be at 10:30am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1617 E. Emerson Street, Bloomington, IL with the service to begin at 12pm.
