Dolly was born May 16, 1927, in Barnes, IL, the daughter of Charles and Josephine Minnelli Fortino. She married Russell Grimm in 1947 at Holy Trinity Church in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2012.
Surviving are their two daughters, Annie Jenkins of Bloomington, and Josie (David) Whitecotton of N.C.; two grandchildren, Michael (Donna) Griffin of Bloomington and Dane Griffin of Bloomington; four great-grandchildren, Drake, Cassidy, Brock, and Savannah. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and four brothers.
Dolly brightened and touched everyone’s heart. She loved God and her family with all of her heart. Dolly and her husband Russ were always known in the restaurant business for their laughter congeniality, hard work and expertise, and excellent food service.
Dolly’s famous spaghetti and meatballs will be remembered by family and friends forever.
Dolly always had an open heart for everyone she knew and loved. Everyone will remember her bright special smile and loving personality. She loved working on her word search books, sitting on the porch, visiting with friends and family. She also loved going for rides and watching the cubs play ball on T.V.
Thank you to all caregivers, friends that kept her company and physicians that cared for her during her needs. Thank you for the many times for the priest and Linda visiting and bringing her communion at home. Our Angel in this family is gone but forever will be in our hearts and guide us in our different journeys through our lives. We love you Mom and Nana.
