Howard R. Mann

Howard was born August 6, 1920 in Bloomington, the son of Howard and Lucie Riskrie Mann.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Terry) Sachan of Shelbyville; and Tami Mann of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Bryan (Alicia) Sachan of St. Louis; Kimberly (Jeff) Johnson of Marco Island, FL; Shana Ward of Hopedale, IL; Josh (Kala) Ward of Normal; Nicole Ward of Normal; and Amanda Nimrick of Springfield, IL; four great-grandchildren, Grant Reeder of East Peoria; Jaydon Ward, and Jayse Ward of Stonington, IL; and Alyssa Huffman of Springfield, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Marty Mann and Chip Nimrick; a daughter, Sandy Mann; a sister, Lucille Peifer; and two brothers, William and Robert Mann.

Howard served in the Army during WWII in the 20th field artillery fourth infantry division. He later worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company as a tool designer retiring after 30 years.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Park Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Health in Bloomington.
