Born to James and Pearl (Clouser) Griffin on August 14, 1929 in Bloomington, IL; she married Gordon E. Gates August 14, 1948 in Wisconsin. He preceded her in death along with their son Timothy Gates.
Surviving are her children, Tonda (Doyle) Hartle, Taylor (Randy) Christman, and James (Carmela) Gates; 6 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Jo Anne loved her family, to travel, her dogs and the Chicago Cubs just to name a few of her favorite things.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2025 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Rev. Naomi Roberts will officiate. Inurnment for she and Gordon will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church of Bondville, near Champaign, of which she was a member.
