Linda Ann Ball

Linda Ann Ball, born on August 10, 1942, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Vern and Orletha Carmichael. Linda married the love of her life, Robert Ball, in 1964 and together they started a family and shared a long life together.

Linda was a beloved, and devoted kindergarten teacher at Thomas Metcalf School for the better part of three decades, before retiring in 2007. During this time Linda published multiple books which helped countless early education professionals better reach their students with innovative approaches to learning. In retirement, Linda enjoyed traveling with her husband and entertaining friends and family. Throughout her life, Linda was a tireless advocate for the inclusion of special needs children and adults alike. Linda leaves to cherish her memory husband, Robert Ball; daughter, Lindsay Ball; sons, Ryan (Rebecca) Ball and Justin (Amy) Ball; and grandchildren, whom she adored: Sophia, Alex, Caroline, Hunter, and Austin, along with a host of extended family and friends. The family has chosen to hold a celebration of life at a future date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Apostolic Christian LifePoints (aclifepoints.org/donate.asp) or Lifelong Access.

Cremation rites have been accorded to East Lawn Funeral Home.
