Lois Ellen Patterson, 87, of Sugar Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Normal, formerly of Bloomington and Le Roy, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 2:30 a.m. at the home. She was born October 17, 1930 in Le Roy, the daughter of Roie and Lola Weidner Bishop. She married Clifford Olseon, Sr. in 1947, and they later divorced. She then married Harold Patterson in 1962. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1987.
Lois was co-owner of T & P Heating and Cooling with her husband until it closed in 1988. She also worked for many years as a bookkeeper for John C. Morris, CPA, retiring in 2011. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Ladies of the Moose. Lois was a huge NASCAR fan, and loved going out to eat and making trips to the gambling boat. In her younger days, she also enjoyed gardening and cooking.
She is survived by a son, Clifford (Linda) Oleson, Jr. of Plano; a daughter, Marie Helm of Humboldt; a stepdaughter, Jacqueline (Philip) Gottlieb of Irving, Texas; three grandchildren, five step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lois is preceded in death by two brothers and a stepdaughter, Bonnie Gibson.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and no services will be held. Private burial of her ashes will occur at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bloomington.
