On April 5th, 1967, Marcus was born to Virginia and Jean Theissing in Elgin, IL.
He graduated from St. Charles High School where he was a dedicated football player. He went on to attend college at Eastern Illinois University. After graduation, he completed his master’s in finance from Northern Illinois University.
Marcus is survived by wife Linda; two daughters: Jill (Chuck) Drews and Christie (Devin) Deyoung; and three grandchildren: Aryana, Wyatt, and Zoey, who were the light of his life.
Marcus owned the Dekalb Currency Exchange and was working most recently at State Farm Bank as a banking analyst.
He was a sports fan; especially he loved the Blackhawks and the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and attending autograph shows. Marcus never knew a stranger and would do anything for anyone.
A visitation will be held 10:30am-11:30am on October 18th, followed by a memorial service beginning at 11:30 at Calvary United Methodist Church 1700 N Towanda Ave, Normal, IL 61761. A meal of condolence will follow services.
