Mildred R. Morris

Mildred R. Morris, 91, of Lodi, CA, passed away at 11:25 P.M. on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Crescent Court Nursing Home in Lodi, CA.

She was born December 24, 1919 in Windsor, IL, the daughter of William and Rose Krause Thompson. She married Paul D. Morris on November 20, 1942 he preceded her in death on March 13, 1977.

Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

She is survived by two daughters Paula (Flag) Billings of Woodridge, CA and Kathleen (Gerald) M. Plummer of Concord, CA, four granddaughters; Jennifer (Matthew) Ibbetson of Woodland CA, Hilary (Gregory) Menna of Woodland, CA, Emily (Ricardo) Busquets of Concord, CA and Madison Billings of Eugene, OR, two grandsons; Collin Billings and Mason Billings both of Woodbridge, CA. Also surviving are 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred was a member of the Eastern Star, The Lionettes in Bloomington, she was president of both Jefferson and Oakland School PTA’s, she drove meals on wheels and volunteered in many civic capacities. She was also a long time member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington.

She enjoyed a long career as office manager for C&S Direct Advertising in Bloomington from 1958 to 1983 when she retired.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday July 8, 2011 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, IL. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
