Ralph Wayne Wilcox, age 84, of Bloomington, Illinois passed away on Monday May 27, 2019 at Snyder Village, Metamora, IL. Ralph was born January 15, 1935 in Bloomington, IL to Clarence and Marguerite (Koch) Wilcox. He married Joanne Carol Krug, June 30, 1960 in Metropolis, IL. She survives.
Ralph is also survived by 2 sons, Daniel (Brenda) Wilcox, Bloomington; Michael Wilcox, Normal; son-in-law Bruce Wines, Bloomington; 4 Grandchildren - Eric (Naomi) Wilcox, Bloomington; Evan (Jessica) Wilcox, Bloomington; Johnathon Wilcox, Bloomington; Ashley (Jordan) Mueller, Bloomington; 4 Great-grandchildren - Leora Wilcox, Bloomington; Evalina Wilcox, Bloomington; Elizabeth Wilcox, Bloomington; Ruth Wilcox, Bloomington. Sister, Betty Lovekamp, Freeport, IL; Larry (Mozetta) Wilcox, Waxhaw, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Wines; a great-grandchild Enzo Wilcox; 3 sisters, Virginia Gannaway, Rose Mary Otto, Lorea Wilcox; 4 brothers, Donald Wilcox, Harold Wilcox, Melvin Wilcox, Gary Wilcox.
Ralph served in the U.S. Navy from January 15, 1955 until November 26, 1958, receiving an honorable discharge. He was stationed in Green Cove, Florida and Newport, Rhode Island.
He was employed by Sugar Creek Creamery, Bloomington from 1959 until 1962; Hicksgas Bloomington from 1962 until 1971; and was self-employed in construction from 1970 until his retirement in 1996.
Visitation will be Friday, May 31 from 5-7p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be Saturday, June 1, at 10:30a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Road, Bloomington, IL with Steve Evans officiating.
