Today is my 70th birthday.  Rod would have sent me an e-card.  He had birthdays set up to automatically remind him.  I miss his emails, and every now and then I receive one that I KNOW he would have loved.  Maybe he's the one who prompted it to come to me in the first place.  God love him!   Judy Kober Hirsch

Sorry to read about Rod in the paper. I met him years ago at a car show; I always thought he was a pretty cool guy with a nice red corvette. He was gracious enough to let me park my 1988 corvette in front of his house on Veterans to try and sell it. It did not take long to sell it there.

Rod's passing leaves a hole in my life.  I was one of his e-mail "girls" from high school.  He may have been short in stature, but he was a giant in heart and humor, and I will miss him.  His sudden death makes it that much more difficult to believe, and I will look for his e-mails for sometime, I imagine.  God bless you and keep you till the time you can rejoice and laugh in the many happy memories you have of Rod.

I remember seeing him with my dad. I always loved riding in his corvette and eating frozen snickers. He was a great guy.

Rodney was a friend that always had a smile on his face. When he met you he would lighten your day with a joke or a fun story. Rod was very proud of his family and his Corvette. He will be missed by all of us. You have my sincere sympathy.

Sending our heart felt sympathy for Rod's family. His passing came as a real shock to Carol and I. It was great reconnecting with Rod over these last few years and especially thru face book. We shared several military stories and discussed what was important in our lives. There was a sense of real optimism in his postings and you could almost feel his joyfulness of having a new direction in his life and how thankful he was to have been given a new lease on life. His last posting to me was a couple of weeks ago in which he was joking about a video I had posted called "Swampy Thing" and how I needed to stay out of the water this summer with it swimming around. God bless you Rod and thanks for keeping us all on the edge of our seats when you would start a story that was a little edgy, because we never knew where it was going! Your are missed by us all and much loved by many!

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I'm glad I was able to reconnect with Rod over the past few years and at our last high school reunion.....always a smile on his face.
