Sandy spent most of her childhood in Paxton. She attended Paxton Community High School, graduating in 1960. She retired in 2000 as a business analyst for State Farm Insurance Companies after 28 years, and in her final role before retiring, Sandy conducted training sessions around the country. Her integrity, work ethic and thoroughness were readily recognized by her coworkers and employer.
Sandy was an outstanding homemaker with a flair for beauty, meticulous precision and attention to detail in all her endeavors. She was a devoted and vigilant mother to her son and daughter and an accomplished seamstress and pie-maker extraordinaire. Sandy loved to read, to work on challenging puzzles and to travel.
She also volunteered with the Humane Society of Central Illinois in Normal, where her baked goods were a hit at many bake sales.
Even though Sandy was in poor health the last two years of her life, she was always optimistic and very seldom complained. She also maintained her sense of humor throughout her illness. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. East Lawn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
