Born on January 3, 1942, in Endicott, New York, Sharon's life was a testament to resilience, determination, and the pursuit of knowledge. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Dave Priester, a cherished mother to their five children, David Jr (Kattie), PJ (Kayla), Ann (Casey Beard), Kristin (Chris Sorensen), and Jenny and a beloved grandmother to her 12 grandchildren.
Sharon's thirst for knowledge led her to pursue two master's degrees, achievements of which she was immensely proud. She earned her first master's degree in mathematics from Western Michigan University. Driven by her deep faith and desire to serve others, Sharon pursued her second master’s degree in religious education from Mundelein Seminary. This educational journey allowed her to combine her passion for learning with her dedication to her faith, shaping her into a compassionate and insightful educator.
Throughout her life, Sharon remained steadfast in her commitment to her family, her faith, and her community. As active members of Holy Trinity Church in Bloomington, Sharon and Dave dedicated themselves to serving others, leading RCIA programs and youth work camps, and providing unwavering support to those in need.
Sharon's greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart. She poured her energy into nurturing and guiding them, instilling in them values of kindness, compassion, and integrity that would shape their lives forever. Sharon found immense happiness in watching her children and grandchildren's activities, finding joy in every moment shared with them.
In her later years, Sharon faced the challenges of Alzheimer's disease with courage and dignity, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Despite the hardships, her spirit remained unbroken, a testament to her resilience and unwavering faith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Sharon's honor, to support ongoing research and care for those affected by the disease.
