Shirlee was born May 13, 1934 in Rutland, Il to Brainerd and Minnie (Harber) Sunken. She was the last survivor of her family.
She owned and ran creative pet care since the early 90’s. She retired from Illinois State University after 26 years of dedicated service. Shirlee was very active and served on several boards and organizations. She also managed her rental properties. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Shirlee loved animals and enjoyed caring for pets in her successful business. She adored her four rescued miniature dachshunds which always greeter her when she returned home. Shirlee was loved and had many friends and acquaintances.
Her Funeral will be 11am Thursday January 8, 2015 at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Vaughn Hoffman and Rev. David Brown officiating. A celebration of life will follow at Wesley United Methodist Chruch, 502 East Front Street, Bloomington, IL 61701.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois, Animal Protection league, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
