
Virginia I. Ringel, 91, formerly of Bloomington, IL, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at LeRoy Manor.
She was born February 4, 1921, daughter of Clarence and Irene Messamore. She married Andrew Ringel, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Ringel and seven siblings.
Surviving are one daughter, Jill (James) Monge of Bloomington and three grandchildren, Julie Lohr, Jami Monge and Todd Ringel. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Lohr, Alexandria Lohr, Christian Lohr and Drew Ringel.
She retired from Funks Seed Company, where she worked for many years as a technician. She also worked part-time at Sears Roebuck in the catalog department.
Virginia was an avid reader and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a “Nanny to All” and her family was her life.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where a memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded by East Lawn Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
