

Wanda Slayback Weinreich, 103, passed away at the ARC in El Paso, IL on March 5, 2026. She was born December 20, 1922 in Heyworth, IL at her family home to Otho and Rachael Nelson Swearingen. She married Paul D. Slayback in August 1941. He passed away in November 1963. She later married William Weinreich in 1972. He passed away in March 1998.
Wanda is survived by a daughter, Nancy (John) Kelly, El Paso, IL, and a son, Dean (Beverly) Slayback, Fontana, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Kelly, El Paso, IL, Brad (Jill) Kelly, Ft. Myers, FL, Gina (Rob) Stiles, El Paso, IL, Brent (Traci) Kelly, El Paso, IL, DeAnna (Kevin) Slayback Bailey, Farmer City, IL, and Scott Slayback, Fontana, CA. She had eleven great grandchildren, Mason (Faye) Elias, Ashton Sampson (fiance, Jabari Overstreet), Breanna Kelly (fiance, Nathaniel Schug), Alexandra Kelly, Maxwell Kelly, Allison Kelly, Michaela Kelly (fiance, Boden Halvorsen), Abigail, Kate, Colton, Emersyn Kelly, and two great-great grandchildren, William Elias and Talia Overstreet. Her step-family included four children, William Weinrich, Jr., Gloria Jackson, Lee Weinreich, David Weinreich (deceased), several step grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings (one, her twin sister, Wava Hayes), granddaughter, Kara Lynn Kelly, and infant great-granddaughter, Morgan Elias. Wanda was a member of the Heyworth Christian Church that her husband, Paul, helped build.
She was cremated and there will be a private graveside service at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, IL
