William Donaldson Brandon

William was born on September 1, 1935, in Pekin, the son of Fred and Mary Brown Brandon. He married Malinda Crawford on May 19, 1990 in Leroy. She survives him.

Also surviving are their children; Kathy (Chris) Raymond of Santa Maria, CA; Anne Marie Brandon of Louisville, KY; Patrick Brandon of Peoria; Daniel (Nancy) Brandon of Liberty Township, OH; five step-children, Teresa Adams of Bloomington, Tina Morefield of Bloomington, Lisa Dierdorff of Bloomington, Paul (Anne) Crawford of Leroy, and Marshall (Amy) Crawford of Bloomington; 14 grandchildren, Adrien and Nathan Brandon, Chris Price, Stephanie Sikorski, Sam Stills, Tyler Adams, M.J. Denney, Camille Crawford, Mira Crawford, Steven Crawford, Tim Morefield, Jeffrey Morefield, Justin Morefield, and Mandy Streenz; and 11 great-grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter, Lindsey Brandon.

William served in the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and later in life served in the reserves. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He later received his master’s degree at Bradley University. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 30 years as a Chemical Engineer. He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed bowling and tennis. He was a huge Notre Dame Fan as well as Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and Cubs. He loved taking trips with Malinda to Hawaii.

Per William’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Residential Program for Youth, 2900 W Heading Ave, Bldg. A West Peoria, IL 61604.
