

Burl R. Boruff, 78, of Bloomington, died Monday, September 9, 2013 in I.U. Health Hospice House. He was born May 2, 1935 in Monroe County, Indiana to Harley Boruff and Goldie Hayes Boruff. Burl was a truck driver for many years driving for Stone Belt Fright Lines, RCA and Traxx Express. He also enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar and driving for Rural Transit.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Barbara Young Boruff; a daughter, Sheryl Newton; four sons, Bobby Boruff, Jerry Boruff (Sherri), Greg Boruff (Susan), and Jeff Boruff (Kelly); a brother, Virgil Boruff; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Paul, Wilford, Edward and Lester; two sisters, Ruth and Carrie, who died in infancy; and two grandchildren, Chris and Amy Boruff.
A Private Graveside Service will be held in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Brother Tracy Noel officiating. Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
