OBITUARY
Caroline Sue Shields
8 December, 1942 – 27 April, 2020
Caroline Sue Shields, age 77, of Bloomington, passed away Monday evening (04/27/2020) at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born December 8, 1942 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Sam and Martha (Walker) Jolliff. Caroline retired from Indiana University after 36 years of service where she was the Head Pastry Chef. Caroline loved to crochet, needle pointing, camping and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Caroline is survived by her son, Russell Jacobs, of Bloomington; three daughters, Terry Jacobs, of Bloomington and twin daughters, Jan (Gary) Whaley, of Bloomington and Jill (Mark) Vincent, also of Bloomington, one brother, Charles “Billy” Watkins, of Morgantown, West Virginia, son-in-law married to late daughter, Karen, Richard Sexton, of Bloomington, eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and beloved family members.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Jolliff and Martha Jolliff Watkins, husband, Richard Lee Shields, one daughter, Karen Sexton, three sisters, Patty Quick, Libby Watkins, Penny Capps and Jimmy Stalcup.
A private family graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday at Clear Creek Cemetery. Burial will follow the service.
