Obituary of Daniel Howard Lawyer
Daniel Howard Lawyer, age 71, of Bloomington, passed away Friday evening (10/12) at his residence. Born November 16, 1946 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Carl Edward and Gathel Jane (Egolf) Lawyer. Daniel graduated from Plainville, Indiana High School, class of 64. He faithfully served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 where he served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He worked as a long-haul truck driver, primarily with Wetterau Foods in Bloomington and later Boyd Grain Co. in Washington, Indiana. He was a member of the Stoneybrook Community Church of God and the Bloomington American Legion Post #18. He is survived by his loving wife, Beth (Killion) Lawyer, of Bloomington, his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Carl and Jessica Lawyer, of Ellettsville, his daughter and son-in-law, Kristen Danielle and Troy Copper, of Bloomington, one brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Linda Lawyer, of Bloomington ; four grandchildren, Savannah Lawyer, Tylor Lawyer, Ashley Miller and Nicholas Copper and one great-granddaughter, Madison Mansard. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Lawyer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (10/20) at 1:00 p.m. at the Stoneybrook Community Church of God in Bloomington with Rev. Donald Smith officiating. Burial of the remains will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Valhalla Memory Gardens where the Monroe Veterans Honor Guard will perform military rites. Friends may visit the family from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
