

David Ross “Rocky” Gallagher, age 69, of Owensburg, died Tuesday evening at his residence. Born January 11, 1946 in Bloomington, he was the son pf Richard L. and Mabel J. (Hamlin) Gallagher. He worked at Crane N.W.S.C. as an Engineering Technician. He was an avid reader and loved to draw. He had attended Little Union Baptist Church and was a member of the NRA. He had served as a U.S. Army Training Sergeant during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Lentz) Gallagher, of Owensburg; his mother-in-law, Frances (Girdley) Lentz, of Unionville; one sister, Kimberly Weaver, of Bloomington; three sisters-in-law, Diana (Herman) Young, of Unionville Carol (John) Stiteler, of Stillwater, Minnesota and Cheryl Ritz-Lentz, of Indianapolis; one brother-in-law, Robert Darwin (Lori) Lentz, of Unionville, six nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews; one aunt, Dorthea Blake, of Bloomington and three cousins, Diannia (Jerry) Polley, of Patricksburg, Lloyd Edward Blake, Jr., of Ellettsville and Traci Siedl, of Hobbieville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard L. Gallagher and Mabel Gallagher Weaver; step-father, Donald Weaver, one sister, Robin Weaver White and two brothers-in-law, Michael Lentz and Donald Robert Lentz.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary; 700 W. Gourley Pike; Bloomington on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Unionville Cemetery.
