

Donald L. Erwin, age 72, of Solsberry, died Sunday at his residence. Born July 13, 1942 in Charlottesville, Indiana, he was the son of Wiley and Ruth Erwin. He was a retired stagehand from the Indiana University Auditorium. He previously had worked for Wetterau Foods and owned and operated his own service station. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and woodworking. He was a member of the stagehand union, I.A.T.S.E. Local # 618.
He is survived by his loving family; his son and daughter-in-law, Donald L. Erwin, Jr. and Patty Erwin, of Solsberry; his daughter Misty Boswell, of Ft. Knox, Kentucky; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Nancy Erwin, of Knightstown and Mike and Gabi Erwin, of Hardinsburg; one sister, Ramona Webber, of Knightstown; three grandchildren, Brianna Boswell, Kayla Erwin and D.J. Erwin; and one great-grandson, Brantlee Thacker and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jimmy Erwin and one son, Rick Erwin, on October 22, 2013.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel; 700 W. Gourley Pike with Pastor Frank Helton officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Friday at the funeral home from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M.
