Ethel Mary Donovan

Ethel M. Donovan died peacefully in the early morning of September 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Ethel was born in Binghampton, NY on August 26, 1937 to the late Thomas and Ethel(Holden)McCarthy. Ethel was a registered nurse working for the federal government in Health and Human Services before retiring in 1994. She married James Donovan on February 3, 1961. He preceded her in death in 1999. Ethel enjoyed many hobbies. She loved to knit, quilt, sew, go camping and loved raising her beloved Dachshund dogs. Survivors include her four sons: James(Donna)Donovan of Thurmont, MD, Michael(Patrice)Donovan of Tappahannock, VA, Christopher Donovan of St. Pete Beach, FL, and Timothy Donovan of Ellettsville, IN. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary Greene & Harrell Chapel, 700 W.
