Kristina "Kristi" Michelle Souders

Kristina “Kristi” Michelle Souders, 27, of Indianapolis and formerly of Bloomington died Saturday, February 25, 2017 of a brain aneurysm. She was born January 23, 1990 in Bloomington to Robert Ray Souders and Karen Lund Souders. She had worked at Fed-Ex, Averus and CVS as a Pharmacy Tech.

Survivors include her father, Ray Souders and wife Tammi of Bloomington; her mother, Karen Cummings and husband Jerry of Indianapolis; her fiancé, Jacob Kaszynski; a brother, William Souders; three sisters, Kelli Clayton Martin and husband Justin, Brittany Hazel Schoolcraft and husband Troy and Brooklynn Souders; grandparents, Robert W. and Sarah S. Souders, William D. and Sharon “Gragal” Hazel, Lori and Robert Lockman, Duane and Patricia Cummings and William and Cheryl Lund; two nieces, Danika Schoolcraft and Arlena Martin; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by two uncles, Dan Cummings and Raymond Wayne Souders; an aunt, Pamela Burchard; a cousin, James Hatley, Jr.; great grandparents, Rufus and Arlena Lindsay; and a great grandmother, Imogene Hazel.

Kristi had attended Decatur Township Church of Christ; she also attend the Jehovah Witness; she attended Grandview and Lakeview Elementary Schools in Bloomington and graduated from Excel Learning Center in Indianapolis with a 4.0 GPA. She loved to crochet and make beaded jewelry, playing video games, music and singing but her passion was to work in the medical field. In February of 1998 Kristi received a liver transplant and decided to return the favor by becoming an organ donor, “because someone else saved my life”. Kristina and Jacob were engaged to be married on September 16, 2017.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel, 700 W Gourley Pike, with Pastor Leah Russell officiating, burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
