Leon “Pete” R Kuhlman, 83, of Bloomington, died Thursday, September 17, 2020. Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020 at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Please wear a mask.
Pete was born July 22, 1937 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Pete was the son of Willard and Flora (Remmele) Kuhlman. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Ruth, Kathy and Vern. He is survived by his younger brother Larry of Ohio.
Pete served in the US Navy from 1956-1960 as Radarman 2nd class on the Destroyer USS Vesole DDR-878. After the Navy he received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Tri-State College in Angola, Indiana. He then came to Bloomington and worked 34 years with RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics retiring in 1997. He was a member of Stoneybrook Community Church of God.
Pete was a loving and devoted husband and great-grandfather.
He married Cleo (Thompson) Kuhlman in 1960 who preceded him in death in 2005.
He is survived by his second wife: Shirley (Edles) Kuhlman and three children: Greg, Jim (husband of Christine), Christy Pote (wife of Bob) and 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
