Obituary of Maxine Thurman
Maxine Thurman, 84, of Bloomington died Sunday, June 16, 2019 in I.U. Health, Hospice House. She was born May 4, 1935 in Bloomington to Ora Alonzo Hall and Mary Vivian Hall. Maxine was a graduate of Bloomington High School, Class of 1953. She was a retired from RCA after 25 years of service and a self-employed Home Interiors Representative. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Harry Thurman; a daughter, Brenda (Terry) Weaver of Bloomington; three sons, Steve Davidson, Tim Davidson and Tony (Angela) Davidson all of Bloomington; a sister, Alice (Bob) Whaley of Whitehall; seven step children, Dan, Brenda, Diana, Jerry, Kay, Carl and Denise; eighteen grandchildren, Chris, Cheryl, Steve, Coty, Alex, Nick, Jacob, Kyle, Reid, Michael, Ashley, Kevin, Stephanie, Dustin, Kirsten, Cheyenne, Jasmine and Jace; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin daughters, Dina Fae Davidson and Tina Rae Hale; two brothers, Carl and Ora Hall; two half-sisters, Violet Baugh and Maymie McArtor; and two half-brothers, Jim and Jack Neff. Maxine loved hosting Home Interior Party’s, she also enjoyed swimming, gardening, arranging flowers and spending time with her family. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:30 PM in Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, 700 W Gourley Pike, with Pastor Rich Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends prior to services on Saturday from 12:30 – 2:30 PM in the funeral home. The family would like to thank I. U. Health Hospice for the extraordinary care shown to Maxine, especially nurses Dorothy, Angie, Alice and Natalie and Chaplain Wendy.
