

Robert E. Stigall, age 85, of Bloomington, died Sunday morning at his residence. Born May 26, 1927 in Bloomington, he was the son of John and Eva (Hoskins) Stigall. He was retired as a machinist and tool and die maker. He had worked at Sarkes Tarzian, ABB/Westinghouse, and Otis Elevator in Bloomington He was a W.W. II era U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. One of his favorite hobbies was photography.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Terry Stigall, of Bloomington; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Hammons, of Muncie; one sister, Johneva Skirvin, of Ellettsville; two brothers, William Stigall, of North Port, Florida and James Stigall, of Panama City, Florida and five grandchildren, Aaron Stigall, of Ft. Worth, Texas, Justin Stigall, of Houston, TX, Allison Stigall, of San Francisco, CA and Robert and Jonathan Hammons, both of Muncie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Catherine M. (Gray) Phelps Stigall, whom he married on April 6, 1952 and who died on April 15, 2012. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Ann Stigall, one grandson, David Stigall and five sisters, Marge Gamble, Beulah Hazel, Ruby Drake, Betty Beard and Fay Kelley.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoelum Chapel with Rev. Frank VanAllen officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
