

Sandra Elliott Dicks, age 74, of Bloomington, died Saturday at the Richland-Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville. Born October 4, 1936 in Anderson, Indiana, she was the daughter of Leroy and Retha (Wright) Elliott. She had worked for Indiana Bell and retired as a long-distance operator with A.T. & T. While working for A.T. & T. she was proud to serve as the President of the Communication Workers of America in Marion during the divestiture of the two companies. She later worked for Century 21 Realtors and then at Weliever’s Auto Dealer in Martinsville. In addition to her involvement with C.W.A. she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the American Business Women’s Association.
She is survived by her husband, Norman F. Dicks, of Bloomington, one daughter, Suzan Sater, of Bloomington; three granddaughters, Amanda Sater Walker, Jewel Lee Sater Bezy and Sarah Ann Sater; one sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Tom Sheets, of Anderson and one brother and sister-in-law, Lyndal “Butch” and Linda Elliott. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Leroy Elliott, Jr., Leonard Elliott and Cecil Elliott.
The funeral service will be held today at 1:00 P.M. at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene and Harrell Chapel with Pastor Alan Phillips officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
