Angelina (Angela, Ann, Annie) Verdigi, 90 of Lake Worth, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Angela was born July 12, 1924 in Bari, Italy. She adored her parents, Vito Rocco and Mary Gasparre. She was the eldest of five children; 3 sisters Rose, Sue, and Marie and a brother Pat. She lived her life in service of her family and friends. She taught us all the meaning of devotion and the self-sacrifice of caring for those in need. She was a generous person who would never say no if people asked for her help. A confident, strong minded, extremely hard working, Italian woman who spoke up without hesitation or remorse when she viewed unkindness or a wrong being done. She treasured her family the most and was always proud of their accomplishments and what wonderful individuals they became. She was seamstress by trade who worked in the garment district in Manhattan. She later worked at Unity School for 21 years and was always ready to do what was necessary for the teachers, parents and of course the students. Towards the end of her life she continued to be surrounded by her three daughters, Carol, Maria, Emma, her son-in-laws, Rich and Keith, her grandchildren, Joann, Katie, Marissa, Chris, Nick, her great grandchildren Gia, Angelina (her namesake) and the youngest (six weeks old) to join the family, Grayson. She was the last surviving, member of her initial family, which gives us all such solace that she has now united with them again in Heaven. If there is a kitchen in heaven she is cooking up a Storm! Our great loss but Heaven’s amazing gain. God bless her and know she will be remembered in everything we see and feel. Thank you dear Mom for the life you gave us. Love you forever and for always until we meet again. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Babione Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432. Immediately following, Celebration of Life Services will be held at Unity of Delray Church, 101 NW 22 Street, Delray Beach, FL 33444. Interment services to follow at Boynton Beach Memorial Park.
