Illinois, but spent most of her life in South Florida. Anne was married to Jack Musselman and
raised four children, three of whom survive her. She was a graduate of Florida State University,
taught first grade, and worked at the Broward County Sheriff's Office. She also hosted a home
church for seven years that brought hundreds of people into her home to hear the gospel.
Anne never grew old. She always displayed a childlike wonder at life and possessed a joy in
living. Her enthusiasm for the world around her was inspiring. Everything was new and exciting
to her no matter her age. She also maintained a powerful hope in her family, the church, and
mostly, her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith saw her through difficult times and was a great witness
to her family and friends. Anne’s knowledge of the Bible (always the King James version) and
ability to quote verses from memory sustained her and those around her. Her house was always
filled with music. She played the piano starting at the age of five and was still playing the piano
and organ for her church at the age of 94 shortly before she passed away. In her later years, Anne
began to write poetry and published a book of her original work. She joyfully recited her poetry
from memory at family gatherings.
Anne set a high standard for living in faith and with love for all. She accepted everyone into her
home, no matter their condition in life, and often allowed travelers to stay until they moved on.
She believed in giving everyone a break and held no grudges.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Gary and Michelle Musselman, Melinda and
Ted Woodburn, and Casey and Ann Musselman; grandchildren Teddy, Kelly, Andrew, Brian,
Michael, Amanda, Christy, Russell, Jason, Shannon; and nine great-granddaughters. She was
predeceased by her husband, the Honorable Andrew Jackson Musselman, Jr; son, Brion; mother,
Jane Galt West and stepfather Bob West; and father, Roy Rice and stepmother Florence Rice.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 10:00 in the morning at Evergreen
Cemetery, Ft. Lauderdale.
We wish her God’s speed.
