

Jerry is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Susan Godlewski, children Joshua Carl (daughter-in-law Natalie Greenberg and grand-daughter Ellie Taylor), Jacob Daniel, Jared Taylor; and brother David Howard and many other family and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald “Jerry” William Coldiron Sr., his mother Estelle Agnus Froelicher, and his sister Susan Marie as well as many other family and close friends.
Jerry was born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky on July 20, 1957. He graduated from Boone County High School in 1975 and from Eastern Kentucky University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in horticulture and turfgrass. On July 18, 1981, he married Susan Godlewski and together, they raised three wonderful children.
Jerry worked as a Golf Course Superintendent at Boone Links Golf Course and Lassing Pointe Golf Couse in Boone County, Kentucky for thirty years before retiring in 2006. In 2007, he and Susan moved to Boca Raton, Florida where he worked for Hector Turf as an international sales representative. His sales territory was in the Caribbean. He was a prominent certified member of the Golf Course Superintendents of America and the Audubon Society, as well as many others. He received numerous awards and recognitions including a distinguished alumni award from Eastern Kentucky University’s Department of Agriculture and was recently recognized by the Golf Course Superintendents of America for providing over twenty-five years of service to the association.
In addition, Jerry was an accomplished speaker and writer within his profession, and was often found on social media reflecting on his many blessings. Jerry was a steward of the environment, loved the beach, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. Jerry touched the lives of many people and his constant drive to help others was admirable.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, December 2nd at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton. A “Celebration of Life” will follow the mass at the Mercy Center at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jerry’s life.
