Pam and family- I re-read my note to you and was so upset- I see that I said Uncle Henry instead of Uncle Melvin- I guess I had a senior moment- It was Uncle Melvin and Grace who was always so good to Dad-even having him visit when they lived in Long Island-  growing up we would vacation in Florida and stop in to visit them in Boca Raton.  Grace and my Mother (Rose Mary) wrote letters back & forth with the latest news-always keeping in touch.  I know Grace will be missed.

Dear Pam, Kip, Randy and families,
I have kept up with Aunt Grace through Uncle Don and Tami Manska.  I am Byron's oldest daughter, Judi, and I remember my dad always telling the stories of how he lived with Grace and Mel in Manhasset, Long Island, after he graduated from high school in 1937.  Uncle Mel got him a job as an assistant manager at Newberry's in Asbury Park, NJ, where he worked until World War II intervened and he went off to pilot training. Dad often talked of those days, and yachting with Aunt Grace/Uncle Mel on the "Diapam" on Long Island Sound.  He adored his sister Grace, and said she was such a natural entertainer and could throw together a great party or gathering in just a few hours! Of course, I remember celebrating Grandma and Grandpa Matson's 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries in Fargo.  I remember Aunt Grace directing us all in a hilarious skit/mock wedding.  Sue and I and all the Fargo cousins thought Aunt Grace and Uncle Mel were fantastic, as well as our fun and sylish cousins from "the east."  Aunt Grace was a beautiful person, always writing the lovliest letters and cards, and we are happy she had such a long, beautiful life. We know she will be so missed and so adoringly remembered by all who knew her.

Pam I am Bob & Rose Mary's daughter, I have such fond memories of Uncle Henry and Aunt Grace- we would visit there growing up and always looked forward to that.their home was amazing- I remember it still even though it has been 40 plus years.  Dad talked about them both so much, they were so good to dad.  I am sure Grace will be missed by many. I read the speech you sent to Mom, it was so moving I know she was proud of all your family--

God Bless Aunt Grace. She was such a special person and I know she was the apple of my dads eye. He spoke of her often and always about how good and loving she was.  They are back together again. I remember when Aunt Grace and Helen would come for a visit and I was always so excited. I will always carry her in my heart!

My deepest condolences to Grace's family. Grace Vaught was one of the most amazing women I ever met in my life and I am so thankful to have been priveledged enough to know her. She was truly an angel here on earth--never had a cross word about anyone...was the definiton of "kind". She is a true example to all women on how to live a good life and how to treat people. Rest with the Angels, Grace; I'm certain you, of all people, had a fast pass straight up to heaven.
